In a few days, the 7000 Miglia Lontano (7000 miles away) charity race will be under starter’s orders following the pre-start celebrations at Vallio Terme (Brescia, Italy) with all the participating teams in attendance, prior to their arrival in India.
Starting in Italy with the finish-line in India, and ultimately with the noble goal of building a fine arts workshop in Kannur, located in the south of the continent.
The vehicles participating in this original and adventurous relay race are certainly varied: the initial stage will be taking place on foot, with the participants then moving onto mountain bikes, then sea vehicles, off-roaders, public transport, an Ape car and finally motorbikes.
And it’s for the final crucial leg that GIVI finally becomes involved, as technical partner, providing all the equipment necessary for this grand enterprise. What could be more thrilling than a challenge that stretches for more than 13,000 kilometres and forces a rider to remain in the saddle of a motorcycle for over 40 days? This is a challenge that was initially realised by 7MML in 2009, but this time the route has been reversed. In 2009, the trip began in Mysore and ended in Italy; however, in 2017, it will begin in Italy and end in Kannur. Amongst all the cross-continent trips that take place, this one best represents the true spirit of self-enlightenment. Who will win this challenge? The road, the motorcycle or the hearts of those riding towards Kannur, in Southern India?
